As of today I am eradicating the word "fresh" from my vocabulary. Ironically enough the usage of the word has managed to become contradictory. Nowadays everybody is fresh. So in true Diddy fashion I will have to undergo a name change. From now on, on my small space in the blogosphere I will be known as 1980. My new aliases is taken directly from the greatest year in the history of the world (my birth year of course). Obviously, my birth was the most important thing to happen that year, but here are a few other "minor" events that took place in 1980:
Kool and The Gang's hit "Celebration" ruled the charts.
The Steelers became the first NFL team to win four Super Bowls
Quincy Jones got a star on the Walk of Fame
The United States Olympic Hockey Team defeats the Soviet Union in the semifinals of
the Winter Olympics, in the Miracle on Ice.
In Los Angeles, comedian Richard Pryor is badly burned trying to freebase cocaine.
Former Beatle John Lennon dies after being shot outside his New York City apartment by Mark David Chapman, a deranged fan who had received his signature earlier in the day.
New Edition formed and began their crusade to conquer pop and r&b.
