This guy is running for President?!!

Considering that I have a bachelor's in Poli Sci and I am a soon to be social studies teacher, I figured it would be a good idea to finally sit down and watch these politicans deliver their scripted responses in these so called "debates". If all you knew about politics was based on what was on TV, you would probably think that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are the only two people running for President. But the 20 of us that actually follow politics know that Obama and Clinton are just two of the 10 candidates that are running for the Democratic nomination. Last night, Tavis Smiley hosted a debate at Howard University designed to grill the candidates on issues pertaining specifically to the black community. The debate covered the usuals (HIV, poverty, education, drug laws) and of course each candidate responded with answers oozing with political correctness and false promises. I enjoyed the debate nonetheless due largely to one man. Barack Obama? No. John Edwards? No. Mike Gravel. Who? Yeah Mike Gravel. I've never even heard of the dude until last night. But he held my interest during the debate. Clinton and Obama may have had the "home field advantage" but Gravel showed up to play last night. After seeing Gravel go hard, I decided to do a little more research on this dude and see what type of history he has. Turns out there's nothing too interesting about Mike Gravel, other than the fact that he was born during the depression (1930). I won't bore you with the legislation he has helped passed but I did find this video on youtube and after watching this clip I'm sure you'll realize that he will never be President.
