complicated??

First of all, if you don't have The Evolution of Robin Thicke in your collection, you should really consider hurting yourself!! Seriously. And for those of you with the ability to distinguish good music from the warmed over garbage that is contemporary R&B and already have this masterpiece in your collection, I suggest revisiting it. As noted a few days ago, I'm upset with hip hop right now and I have decided to revisit a few of my favorite "slow jams". Lately, its been Robin Thicke and also an occasional Jodeci track. Now usually, I'm not one to get my "Ne-Yo on" and sulk over love songs, but after listening to "Complicated", I couldn't help but reflect on my past relationship. Granted, our breakup was amicable, but was I too complicated? I've always thought of myself as a pretty good "boyfriend" with minimal complications but I know that we are all naturally complex to a degree. So I started thinking, what are the things that make me complicated??

Tendency to be condescending - Simply put, I always think that I'm smarter than my partner. This flawed way of thinking usually translates into me patronizing the one I am with. Not a good look.

Lazy - All of my relationships have been with extremely organized women. Unfortunately, I am the complete opposite and I think my laziness may have contributed to a few problems.

I'm always right - I get this from my mama and this is tied into my first "complication". I don't argue if I'm wrong. My mom always says, "I'm telling you this because I'm right". And now I do the same thing. I know it sounds arrogant and cocky but when I speak on something, 99.9% of the time I'm right. If I had any doubt in my correctness, I wouldn't have opened my mouth to speak.

Competitive - I'm a competitive person. In my last relationship specifically my competitiveness is a major reason why I am now single. For some odd reason, everything is like a competition for me. I guess you can attribute it to typical male machismo. I just love to compete.
