"True story, my closet is like two stories..." - Jay Z
So a couple of weeks ago, a few friends and I gathered to celebrate my 1st birthday in DC. We spent Happy Hour at a bar in a notoriously gay area of town. No homo... just cheap drinks. A friend of mine made a joke that my vest may possibly attract gay men. I thought the vest was a good look but clearly the joke of the night was that my vest was borderline gay. I'm comfortable with my manhood but since I am back into the "single life" I don't want to be signaling anyones "gaydar". So I'm leaving it up to the blog world to decide. Should I retire the vest??
nothing wron with the vest folk
ReplyDeletei'm assuming the second picture was taken at the aforementioned party? it looks cool, i like the fabric of the tie and the vest, and i like the denim rather than slacks-which probably would have been a tad homo-esque in a gay bar;) i do wonder about your shoes though (just to know the whole deal)
ReplyDeletei like the vest and the tee though too so just give your friends closet tips to counter the hating.
I like the vest. There is nothing gay about it in my eyes. I'm a little further up the east coast and the vest is poppin'. Maybe it's a regional thing...
ReplyDeleteVery grown & sexy. If you were passing by me on the street, you'd have my attention ;)
ReplyDeleteThe vest is cute. Keep it and rock it! It's not gay! :*)
ReplyDeleteHey, men used to say that Prince was gay, but look at all of the women he's dated. He is the ONLY man that I know of who can get away with wearing butt-out, purple suede pants...lol.
Keep the vest! ;*)
I think the vest is mainstreamed.
ReplyDeleteThe first look is cute... that second look is borderline gay... I dont know but its a thin line between being too clean that gives off that vibe... and sidebar... you look different in every pic you post!
ReplyDeleteLooks cool to me. Then again, I don't know shit about fashion. I probably have a few questionable things in my closet...
ReplyDeleteWell looks like the vest will live to see another day.
ReplyDeletetrb- the shoes?? black loafers.
demon hunter- vanity, apollonia, carmen electra, yeah Prince is that dude.
eb- i hate that keeping yourself clean is equated to being gay.
The vest with a white tee...IN. I wore that last week. Maybe that doesn't count cause I'm a girl but it looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteThe second pic?? Hmmmh? A little suspect.
how cute
ReplyDeleteyou look mean to me. you remind me of diddy (stylewise in that ensemble) and since he's my prototype, that's always a good look.
ReplyDeletei am mean, i don't tolerate any "bitchassness"! lol
ReplyDelete1st... happy belated birthday! and you look great in the vest, and you're a teacher, you're really looking good. lol
ReplyDeletei meant mean like "good" homie.....but that intoleration is good to know!
ReplyDeleteI think you look great! It doesn't look "gay" at all. It looks professional yet laid-back.
ReplyDeleteI like the vest and I dont think it looks gay at all. I like it with the white tee the best tho:-)
ReplyDeleteHa...Ha.
ReplyDeleteIt was only fitting that I make a gay compliment on your birthday, given the venue where we were, and the fact that it was your B-day.
Wear the vest homie, do your's.
...but I wouldn't wear it, and especially not in "Fruit-Pont" Circle.
I like it. I say keep it. Just one woman's opinion.
ReplyDeleteconsidering that the majority of the females said the vest is cool...i guess it will live to see another day, just maybe not in that area of town again!! lol
ReplyDeletethanks
I thought the vest was cute, not gay at all. I'll be ready for the next party invite since I'm new to the Va. area and bored out of my mind LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteSo does the vest survive??
